Frank Baker Bruce, 86, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home.
Frank was born August 21, 1928 in Atlanta, GA, son of the late James and Taulluah Bruce. He enlisted in the US Army at the age of 16 and went on to work in the 6th Naval District at the Naval Ordnance Plant in Macon, GA as an ordnance worker. Frank relocated to Vero Beach 53 years ago and worked in the citrus groves in Indian River County, both at Sexton and Talbert Groves, retiring from Gracewood Groves. After retirement, he worked a trolley driver at the outlet mall for many years, and then was a security guard at Oak Harbor.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbi Kay Clarke of Vero Beach; sons, Aaron Curtis Fretwell of Tennessee, Gary Eugene Fretwell of Virginia and Donald Edward Fretwell of Virginia and 10 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Frank's Life will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Military Honors to follow.
