Obituary

Frank J. Cavanaugh, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the VNA Hospice Hospice House.

Mr. Cavanaugh was born in Decatur, Illinois. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 21 years, coming from Boca Raton.

He served a tour of duty with the United States Marine Corps in the United Nations in Israel and the Middle East. He was honorably discharged after being recalled to serve two years in the Korean War. Following his time in the service, Frank later joined the Marine Corps League.

He began working for the AT&T in 1952 and retired as an engineer in the Traffic Department in 1987.

He was of the Catholic faith, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dixie; brother, James Cavanaugh of Monticello, Illinois; daughter, Lyn Miller and her husband, Marty; grandchildren Jourdon, Dominic and Drew from Cary, Illinois. Also, surviving is grandson, Zachary Trudnak of Vero Beach, from Frank's deceased daughter, Kim Trudnak.

Services: A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
