Frank S. Cuccurese, 64, of Vero Beach, FL, went to heaven on Saturday, June 26, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1957 to Assunta and Raffaele Cuccurese who were both born in Italy. Frank graduated from South Shore High School in Brooklyn, NY. The family then moved to Florida in 1977. He started working in the surveying industry. He earned an Associates Degree from Indian River Community College in 1979 and on to become a licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper. He has worked at Carter Associates, Inc. in Vero Beach since 1980. He enjoyed his work immensely, especially way back before AutoCad when he could hand draft and use his drawing and artistic skills.
Frank was a gentle soul, a loving husband and father, He always saw the good in everyone. He was very patient and understanding. He was just a really nice guy! He was dedicated to his work and always concerned about providing for the family. He loved history, HO Model Trains, drawing and painting. He enjoyed driving his 1984 Alfa Romeo Spider and taking it to car shows. He loved his immediate family and extended family and friends dearly and kept in contact with them throughout the US and Italy. He agreed to be in clinical trials for cancer treatment because it could possibly help a child or another person battling the same disease.
Frank is survived by his wife, Betsy Barberio-Cuccurese, son Frank G. Cuccurese and partner Kasey Howard, stepson Anthony J. Barberio, Jr., Grand daughter Kylee Rae Cuccurese, brother Nando Cuccurese and wife Gloria Cuccurese, brother Ralph Cuccurese and partner Vivian Blank, and many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 2nd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday July 3rd at St. John of the Cross with burial immediately following at Crestlawn Cemetery.
