IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank J.
Librizzi
November 29, 1932 – November 30, 2022
Frank Librizzi of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away early in the morning on November 30, 2022, having just turned 90 the previous day. Born in Newark, New Jersey on November 29, 1932, he was the son of Litterio and Mary Librizzi and was raised in Nutley, New Jersey. He was a graduate of Utah State University in 1954 with a degree in civil engineering. Shortly after college he married his high school sweetheart Bunny, who predeceased him in 2009. In 1966, Frank and Bunny and their three boys moved to Ridgefield, Connecticut where he worked as a successful construction manager for Morganti Incorporated, managing the construction of major projects throughout the northeast United States and internationally. He retired in 2001 and moved to beautiful Vero Beach, Florida to enjoy the fruits of his labor with Bunny.
"Family" is a word to best describe Frank. It was the true joy of his life. He unselfishly lived a life whereby practically all his free time and resources were spent to ensure fun and quality time for his family. This included building a vacation home in Vermont for family ski trips, throwing memorable summer pig roasts in Ridgefield, Father's Day lobsters, renting lake and beach houses on Lake Winnipesaukee and the Jersey shore for summer vacations, coaching his sons' Pop Warner football teams, traveling many weekends to watch his children and grandchildren play high school and college sports, Columbus Day weekend picnics in Vermont surrounded by beautiful fall foliage, and always getting great seats for New York Giants football games. He especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren skiing, snowmobile riding, alpine sliding, canoeing, fishing and hiking in Vermont and squeezing lemons in his granddaughters' hair to give them highlights. He was also an adept handyman and a skilled craftsman of Nantucket Lighthouse wicker baskets and could build practically anything, particularly stone walls. He also served his community by being a long time member of the Lions Club in Ridgefield, including a term as President.
During his retirement years he finally had the chance to travel to many places around the world, read numerous books and take up golf. He also made many friends in Vero Beach, including a very special friend in Lynne Ellison. But his Florida home was always open to his children and grandchildren to enjoy warm weather, beaches, Florida theme parks, baseball spring training games and great meals.
As fate would have it, a mere eleven days prior to his passing, Frank was blessed with the opportunity to attend his 90 th birthday party with forty-five family members and friends, including his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank is survived by his three sons, Ted and his wife Linda of Essex, VT and their children Jamie, Kelly, Zach, Evan and Max; Tom and his wife Donna of East Windsor, CT and their children Shannon, Bryce and Christian; and Jerry and his wife Denise of Mills River, NC and Jerry's children Ben and Heather; and nine great grandchildren Olivia, Jack, Teddy, Troy, Brooks, Brady, Knox, Milo and Micah. Frank also leaves his sister Lucy of Nutley, New Jersey and was predeceased by his brother Joe.
