Frank C. Miendak, 91 of Vero Beach, FL passed away August 13, 2026 at Sonata Vero Beach.

Frank was born on December 10, 1934 in Cliffside Park NJ. He was a first generation American of his parents Frank and Anna from Poland. After high school he joined the Navy and served from 1953-1957.

After he returned from the Navy he married Alice (Merkle). He worked at IBM and attended St Peter’s University in Jersey City NJ. He received a BS in Accounting. Frank and Alice moved to Ft Lauderdale FL in 1968 with their two daughters, Judith Ann Miendak and Maura (Miendak) Sullivan. He worked as a Comptroller in hospital systems in South Florida. They eventually settled in Boca Raton in 1972.

They enjoyed a wonderful life in Boca Raton making a wonderful friend group. They enjoyed bowling, going to the beach and spending time together.

They relocated to Vero Beach in 2012. He enjoyed the laid back lifestyle and slower pace of Vero Beach. He enjoyed his daily walking, meeting new neighbors and their pets. He enjoyed reading the paper daily and reading in general. He enjoyed going out to the wonderful restaurant's in Vero and sitting by the water.

Frank enjoyed spending time with family. Along with his wife and two daughters, he had a son in law Jerry Sullivan, four grandchildren, Caitlin(Justin)Gay, Frank J(Makenzie) Uddo, Cameron Sullivan and Avery Sullivan. Recently his first great granddaughter Lainey Gay joined the family.

Frank was a tall man and quiet, often thought as a gentle giant. He cared for his daughter’s hands on and enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. Family was very important to him. Although he was a man of few words, he was sarcastic but kind, devoted and compassionate. He enjoyed college football, mainly University of Miami and basketball.

His presence and support will be missed by his entire family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2pm, Monday, August 17, 2026 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2000 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 with Father Emmanuel officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date.
