Frank Smolen, of Sebastian, FL, passed away Thursday, October 21, age 51.
Frank was the son of Francis Edward Smolen and the late Marguerite Mary Smolen (nee Wareham). Frank's mother created a special song to sing to each of her children as babies, and Frank's verse was "Franoise d'nest-ce pas, I love you. God gave us something special when he gave us you." As a child, Frank was interested in paleontology and had aquariums full of turtles, lizards, and other reptiles. His worklife encompassed many adventuresome jobs, including working as a commercial fisherman and serving as a bounty hunter. He was an entrepreneur at heart, at one time owning his own cleaning business and at another time a vending machine business. In his spare time, he enjoyed investing in the stock market, working out, and healthy living. Frank shared a special bond with his twin sister, Regina, with whom he spent many hours swimming in the pool, philosophizing and hanging out. His friends and family will always remember Frank's very special sense of humor, his wit, and his charm, all of which complimented his extreme good looks.
He will be very much missed by his father, Francis Edward Smolen, his sisters Marguerite Smolen and Regina Smolen Major (David), his borther Richard Smolen (Kathy Schulz), his niece Elizabeth Mary Major, and his nephews Andrew Major, William Major, Stefan Smolen, and Richard Alexander Smolen.
A service will be held at the William R. May Funeral Home 354 North Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038 to be followed by burial at St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Road Chalfont , PA.
