Obituary

Franklyn Arthur Ross, 71, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 at his home. Frank was born July 30, 1941 in Boonville, NY to Seymour and Gladys Ross. He had been a resident of the Treasure Coast for the past 44 years. He enjoyed serving the community as a bus driver for the Senior Resource Center for 28 years. He was also a Special Deputy with the Indian River County Sheriffs Department Community Service Unit, where he held the rank of Lieutenant and had been a volunteer for 9 years. Frank was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. As the patriarch of the family; he loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. Frank was the consummate planner and looked forward to organizing annual family vacations. His favorite places to visit included Pigeon Forge and the Blue Ridge Parkway in Tennessee, as well as his family in Louisiana. Frank loved Christmas and always went out of his way to make it special for everyone in the family. He enjoyed decorating the house with thousands of lights and made sure there was an abundance of gifts for all. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Katherine Ross; daughters, Lorie (Vince) White of Walker, LA; Cyndi Petrilak of Denham Springs, LA; Joyce (Keith) Ross of Livingston, LA; Teresa (Tim) Hall of Walker, LA; Michelle Kelso of Vero Beach, FL; Jennifer (Raul) Rivas of Orlando, FL; sister, Linda (Ronnie) Howe of Rome, NY; grandchildren, Melissa; Shane; Shanda; Brett; Jessica; Amanda; Kyle; Kelly; Kristen; Amaya; Elijah; and great- grandchildren, Ambree; Gavin; Kamryn; Cohen; Connor; Brennan; Kayne; Annalee; Ayden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seymour and Gladys Ross, and his sister, Shelia Mokrzycki. Services: The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a service beginning at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach, FL. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Vero Beach, FL. Arrangements are under direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach, FL.
