Obituary

Fredrick "Ricky" Lee Lipfert, of Vero Beach passed away Tuesday July 27, 2021 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. Rick was born in Wabasso, Florida on February 1, 1948 to the late Vernon G. Lipfert and Georgeanna Lipfert-Sweatt. "Ricky" was one of two sons and has seven sisters.

After graduating from Okeechobee High School in 1967, Rick enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served honorably in combat action during the Vietnam war. After returning from the service, Rick became a lifelong resident of Vero Beach, Fl. He worked in the Citrus Industry as well as Piper Aircraft for many years until he retired.

Rick was of Christian Faith. He was extremely dedicated to the cause of helping his community in any way he could. Rick cared for the wellbeing of animals through his local Humane Society, he also enjoyed volunteering often with the Salvation Army and Vero Beach Honor Guard. Rick had great joy assisting local Veterans through the Veterans Association, who had served their country and were having difficulties adjusting to life out of the military structure. Rick was a simple man in life. He loved to travel the United States with his late wife Norma, visiting family and friends or just taking a leisure trip. He enjoyed his walks at Memorial Island. When at home, you would often find him sitting in his "Big" chair watching his favorite TV shows and sports, enjoying a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a big glass of milk.

In addition to Ricks parents and sister Sally Watford, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Norma C. Moore-Lipfert and their beloved dog "Sassy". Rick is survived by his son, Vernon L. Lipfert (Shelly), Stepsons: Eddie Moore (Brenda) and Timothy Moore (Tracy). Surviving Siblings: Stanley Lipfert, Diana Ray, Alice Strader, Sharon Sharpe, Christine Ford, Janice Chapman and Connie Scott. "God is something we can take with us wherever we go, He's there to nourish us in the deepest recesses of our souls. He can fill us up and renew our strength so we can get through another day. He is our sustainer, our provider, our comforter, redeemer, and friend. He is our Bread of Life. In short, He is our PBJ."
