Gabriel P. Canino, 87, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mr. Canino was born August 6, 1921 in Highland, NY and moved to Vero Beach in 1995 from his place of birth.
Prior to his retirement he had worked for IBM as a Technician for 30 years in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Canino was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Coast Guard. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and also a member of the VFW and American Legion in Highland, NY.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jane H. Canino of Vero Beach; son John R. Canino of Albany, NY; daughter Gabrielle Canino of Fishkill, NY; and two grandsons.
Services: The family will receive friends 10-11 AM, Friday, April 17, 2009 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Johns Island Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 3918.
