They explored his dream of sailing boats, from an initial 22' Catalina in NJ, through a sporty 7.5 M Tanzer. Then he got really energetic and finished a 33' Raider sailboat, in their side yard! A fourth boat was a Hunter 35.5' that they eventually sailed down the ICW and over to the Bahamas. Finally, they sailed their Hunter 43.3' in the Chesapeake Bay, the Bahamas, and the Florida Keys for several years.
They liked Vero Beach area so much in their ICW travels, that they bought a condo out in West Vero three years ago and sailed the Chesapeake Bay for half the year while living in Vero Beach the rest of the year.
