Gary Ferrara, 80, of Vero Beach, FL passed away on Sunday January 1, 2023.  He was born in Stamford, CT on September 30, 1942 to the late Carmine & Eleanor Ferrara.

Gary learned his love of cars and gas pumps at a very early age, thanks to his Uncle Tony.  He later went on to be a mechanic at various dealerships in Connecticut and Vermont until he moved to Vero Beach in 1988.  He then opened his lawn service and was still mowing 3 lawns until he passed.

Gary's love for cars & gas pumps never faded when he moved to Florida.  He loved to find old gas pumps and restore them to their original condition to share with others who shared the same love.  He even had a makeshift gas station in his backyard.

Gary & his Life Partner, Jan, also had many old cars & trucks that they took to car shows all over Florida.

Throughout his life, when he wasn't at a car show, you could find him cooking in his food trailer, at auctions looking for his next pinball machine or arcade game to purchase or working on restoring gas pumps & other gas station memorabilia to take to the Turkey Rod Run.

Gary is survived by his Life Partner of 28 years, Jan Mallory.  His children - Kimberly Buccheri of Norwalk, CT; Michael (Erica) Ferrara of Vero Beach, FL & Michelle Ferrara of Ft. Pierce, FL & 6 grandchildren; Anthony, Isabella & Alex Ferrara and Dominick, Brittany & Hailey Bainter.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held on February 11, 2023 at the Italian-American Club of Vero Beach from 12noon till 3:00PM
