Genara M. Velez-Acevedo, 88, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 2, 1938, in San Germán, Puerto Rico, Genara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rafael Acevedo.

Genara is survived by her cherished children, Maria Lourdes Acevedo, Rafael Acevedo, Israel Acevedo, Wifredo Acevedo, and Hiram Acevedo; her daughters-in-law, Awilda Acevedo, Ana Acevedo, and Nancy Acevedo; as well as her many beloved grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, who will forever hold her memory close and treasure the love, strength, and moments they shared with her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation and reception on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel.

Genara's love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family Will be remembered always. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Nació el 2 de marzo de 1938 en San Germán, Puerto Rico. Genara, le precedió en la muerte su amado esposo, Rafael Acevedo.

Le sobreviven sus queridos hijos: Maria Lourdes Acevedo, Rafael Acevedo, Israel Acevedo, Wifredo Acevedo y Hiram Acevedo; sus nueras: Awilda Acevedo, Ana Acevedo y Nancy Acevedo; así como sus numerosos nietos y bisnietos, quienes siempre atesorarán su amor, fortaleza y los hermosos recuerdos que compartieron con ella.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a presentar sus respetos durante el velorio y recepción que se llevarán a cabo el lunes 3 de agosto de 2026, de 11:00 a.m. hasta la 1:00 p.m. en Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida. A la 1:00 p.m. se celebrará un servicio funerario en honor a su vida en la capilla de la funeraria.
