Gene Coburn, 77, of Seffner, FL died Thursday Oct. 22, 2009 at his home.
He was born in August 5, 1932 in Eagle Lake, FL and came to Seffner, FL 7 1/2 years ago from Vero Beach, FL.
He graduated from Hernando High School and lived the majority of his life in Brooksville. He retired as plant engineer for Ocean Spray Cranberry Corp. in Vero Beach.
He was a member of Gulf Ridge Park Baptist Church and served as their music director. He was a former member of the Vero Beach-Treasure Coast Kiwanis Club, former Kiwanian of the year, served on the Board of Directors for ARC, Indian River Citrus League, former volunteer for the Vero Beach Police Dept. an avid golfer and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Coburn of Seffner, FL; 3 sons: Sam Coburn; Leslie Coburn, both of Vero Beach, FL; Tim Coburn of Webster, FL; daughters: Susie Johns of Webster, FL; Beverley Wetherell of Gas City, IN; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for friends will be Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Gulf Ridge Park Baptist Church, Brooksville, Fl where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm with Rev. Robert DeCorah officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Lindsey Cemetery.
