George Anthony, 90, of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at his home.
Mr. Anthony was born September 16, 1917 in Newton, MA and moved to Vero Beach a year and a half ago from Boca Raton, FL.
He was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War and had retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service. Mr. Anthony then went on to work for the U.S. State Department as a French Escort Officer Interpreter. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach and the 556th Bomber Squadron 387th Bomb Group Reunion.
Survivors include his wife Virginia Anthony of Vero Beach; brother Thomas Anthony of New York City, NY and four nieces and nephews.
Services: The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 P.M., Sunday December 9, 2007 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service at 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 10, 2007 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
