Thursday morning, November 5th, 2015 George Francis Fecke passed away quietly in his sleep. He leaves behind his loving family including his devoted wife of 56 years, Barbara Anne Wann Fecke; his oldest son, Kurt Fecke and his two children Scott and Keith; his younger son Craig, his wife, Colleen C. Coyle Fecke, and their two children Isabelle and Austin; and his daughter Robin Fecke Cargill and her daughter Christina. George leaves this world to rejoin his dear mother Viola Kemble Fecke, father, Phillip Fecke, and older brother Phillip Junior.

Born June 6, 1931 and raised in Richmond Hill Queens, George came from a supportive family background and was always very grateful and humbled by his parents personal sacrifice that allowed him opportunities that they never had.

George was rightfully proud of his accomplishments, and was relentless in helping his children navigate their way through the perils of life - attempting to guide a path to their success. A few of his earlier life evens include: member of the Richmond Hill High School swim team, Lifeguard at Rockaway, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale beaches, serving in the Army tank core seeing action during the Korean conflict, gaining a degree from Syracuse University College of Environmental Science and Forestry and NYIT, and serving 32 years on the Nassau County Police Department. Two milestones he was particularly proud of were his long distance relay swim from Montauk Point to Coney Island, Brooklyn, and the round trip swim between Dover, England and Calai, France.

We will miss George dearly, and he will always be remembered as the family chess champion.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, Saturday, November, 7, 2015 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Interment will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery in New York.
