Obituary: George Harvey
George Havey, 85, of Stuart, FL died Friday, July 23, 2011 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, FL.
George was born in Jeffersonville, KY and resided in Stuart since 2000 coming from Lexington, KY.
He worked in the automotive sales profession spending 35 years with LR Cook Chevrolet.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army and earned the rank of sergeant.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Harvey, daughters, Shirley Jean (Ab) Hammonds of Jeffersonsonville, KY, Karen Lynn (Mark) Marcum of Lexington, KY, Helen Leigh (Byron) Davenport of Nicholasville, KY; sons, George Bradley Harvey of Laguna Beach, CA and Michael Douglas (Jennifer) Harvey of Georgetown, KY; sisters, Ruth Tandy of Virginia Beach, VA, Leatha Stidham and Margie Stopher of Lexington, KY and brother Lee Harvey of Jeffersonville, KY along with fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Edna Harvey.
George was a gently and caring man. He will remain in his families hearts with thoughts of him by day and sweet dreams of him by night. George was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Service: A Celebration of Life memorial service will be at a later date.
