George E. McNicholl, 87, of Fort Pierce, FL died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Indian River Medical Center.
Mr. McNicholl was born July 24, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Fort Pierce in 1985 from New York.
He was a machinist for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, NY prior to his retirement. He had been a member of the Community Church and was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Navy Amphibious Force. Mr. McNicholl had been a member of the Warrensburg, NY Masonic Lodge #425 since 1952.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Janet G. McNicholl of Fort Pierce; son George McNicholl (Molly) of Evans, WA; daughters Janet Panick (William) of Boynton Beach, FL and Beverly Rovery (Donald) of Ronkonkoma, NY; five grandchildren Heidi Panick Hess, Krista Panick Koehler, Bethany Link, Roslyn McNicholl and Carrie Kolle; five great-grandchildren Samuel Koehler, Emma Koehler, Savannah Hess, Ryan Hess and Aldous Kolle; nieces and nephews Barbara Trendell, Tommy McNicholl and Nancy McNicholl; and the family cat "Frisky".
He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Alexander and Bessie McNicholl, and a brother Clinton McNicholl.

Services: The family will receive friends 2-5 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Ft. Pierce.
