Obituary

George Patrick O'Hare, 93, passed away on November 26, 2018. He was born on March 5, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the eldest of 5 children, to George and Mary (O'Hanlon) O'Hare.

George graduated from Boys High in Brooklyn, N.Y. in June of 1943 and immediately entered the U.S. Navy where he served for 2 ½ years in the South Pacific. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 32 years by AT&T in New York City and White Plains N.Y. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, served in Knights Color Corps and was a past Faithful Navigator of the 4 th Degree. George inherited a love of Astronomy from his father, visiting all the large Astronomical sites in the U.S., loved history, traveling, especially visiting Civil War sites and the annual Thanksgiving Caribbean cruises with friends.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Conlin) O'Hare, his siblings Mary (Alfred) Hodge of Glen Falls, N.Y, James (Donna) O'Hare of Anaheim, CA, and 7 nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Ft. Pierce.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in George's name to the VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Ln, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
