George Joseph Wright, Sr. of Vero Beach, Florida and formerly of Oyster Bay, New York , passed away on February 1, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born in Oyster Bay, New York to Kathleen and Edgar (Buster) Wright. His brother, Peter and sister, Sheila Glander, predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Noble Wright, five children, Peggy (Peter) Watson, Patricia (Joseph) Miller, Barbara (Peter) Stanco, George (Laurel) Wright and Pamela (Jeff) Armstrong; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Kathleen, Gregory, Brian, Alexandra, Megan, Connor, Declan, Liam and Aila; five step-grandchildren, Joseph, Jonathan, David, James and Samantha and two great-grandsons, Owen and Samuel.

George has had many accomplishments in his life. He had a successful banking career in New York. He retired as an EVP at Fleet/Norstar Bank but his pride and joy was his family.

A gathering will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 PM, Friday, February 5, 2016 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church at Vero Beach, Fl.
