Gerald Armand Durfee passed away on November 26, 2025.

A graduate of Balboa High School in Panama City in 1957, he went on to graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York, in 1961. He proudly served a 20-year career in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1982, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander (LCDR), and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War (1969–1970).

He was lovingly married to his wife, Joan Degenaar, for 63 years, having wed on March 31, 1962. A happy resident of Acts since December 9, 2009, he was a devoted father to Lesli Santos (and her husband, Daniel) and Lonn Durfee, and a loving grandfather to Daniel, Brandon, and Brianna Santos.

Interment with full military honors was held on December 24,2025 at South Florida National Cemetery.
