Esterline, Gerald Thomas (Jerry), age 87, of Okeechobee, FL, left us to be with his wife, Shirley Ann,  in Heaven in the early morning of July 14, 2024, one day before his 88th birthday.

Jerry grew up on Amity Road in Brookville, OH, met his life-time love, Shirley Ann, from Trotwood, OH, who passed on Sept. 19, 2021. They lived on Amity Rd and had three children, Diana Lynn, Daniel Thomas, and Lori Ann, who passed in 1972 at age 4.  Jerry was employed as a carpet installer for Rike's in Dayton, OH for many years before starting his own business, Edline Carpet as well as working for Piqua Carpet Service in Piqua, OH. Jerry sold several rental properties to purchase a farm on Rt. 127 in Eaton, OH as well as a second farm a few years later, on Orangeburg Road. He also rented a third farm south of Eaton, ran a large hog business, and worked full-time installing flooring. Shirley became Jerry's carpet helper for nearly 20 years before he retired at age 62 and moved to Okeechobee, FL. Jerry continued working as a handyman where they lived at Ancient Oaks Resort until 2022. Jerry then moved in with his daughter Diana in Vero Beach, FL.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Diana Crull, and her husband, Jeff Crull of Vero Beach, FL, and his son Dr. Dan Esterline, and his wife Robin of Florence KY; 5 grandchildren; John (Jenna) Crull, Sarah Crull, Devin Esterline, Morgan Esterline, and Amber (Nick) Scroggins; and 4 great-grandchildren: Nick Crull, Lilly Crull, Landon Herman, Dylan Herman. From a large family (Esterline) and (Shannon), dad is survived by brother Richard (Karen) Esterline, brother-in-law Gary (Rosemary) Shannon and sister-in-law Jean Wimmers.

Both Jerry and Shirley's remains will be buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Brookville, OH in August 2024.
