Gerald F. Hair, Sr., age 78, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Hamrick Home. Born in Ft. Drum, he was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses.
Gerald was the owner-operator of a local sod farm. Fishing was his favorite form of relaxation.
He was preceded in death by his son Gerald F. Hair, Jr. and a sister, Rita H. Watts. Survivors include three sons, Curtis L. Hair, Sr., Anthony L. Hair, Mark S. (Dorothy) Hair, all of Ft. Drum; brother, General William (Betty) Hair, Jr., also of Ft. Drum; sister, Marie H. (Jerry) Roberts of Silver Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Cristy (Billy) Farenkoff, Shannon (Darren) Stephens, both of Okeechobee, Brittney (Jay) Darnell of Ocala, Curtis L. Hair, Jr., Damon Mills, both of Loxahatchee, Fla., Stephanie L. Hair and Mark Hare, Jr., both of Ft. Drum, Rebekka Hair of Okeechobee, Anthony R. Hair of Ft. Drum; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held graveside at Ft. Drum Cemetery on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
