Obit: Gerald S. Schillon
Gerald S. Schillon, 84, of Vero Beach, FL died Friday, December 31, 2010, at theVNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
The son of Simon and Stella Schillon, Mr. Schillon was born December 25, 1926 in Newark, NJ and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1999, coming from Monroe Township, NJ.
He received his Bachelors Degree at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and prior to retirement, he worked as a chemical engineer at Rhom Haas now part of Dow Chemical. Mr. Schillon was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Chemical Engineer Specialist in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
He is survived by his wife of eight years Sue Schillon of Vero Beach, FL, two step-sons David and Joseph, three step-daughters Rose Marie, Ann and Carol, and ten step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 12:30 - 1:30 PM, Monday, January 3, 2011 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach followed by Mass being celebrated at 2 PM at St. Helen Catholic Church. Mr. Schillon will then be transferred to the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home in Coatesville, PA for final services and interment at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Coatesville, PA..
