Geraldine L. Johnson, of Vero Beach Florida, formerly of Reading Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Monday February 1, 2021.

Geraldine was born on October 27, 1933 in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Samietta Kennedy and Arthur White.

Geraldine was employed by the Berks County Assistance Office for 25 years, and as an Income Maintenance Manager for 11 of those years. She graduated from Reading High School, and Reading Business Institute. In addition, she completed social work courses through West Chester University, Pennsylvania State University, and Reading Area Community College.

Geraldine served on numerous boards such as the Berks County Senior Citizens Council, The Board of Representatives for Senator Gus Yatron, and the Board of United Way of Berks County.

Geraldine was an active member of Zion Baptist Church in Reading, Pennsylvania serving as a deaconess, and Sunday school teacher. She later became a member at Spring Valley Church of God in Reading, Pennsylvania, under Pastor Robert Hinson.

She is survived by her brother James A. White, her husband Benjamin David Johnson, their two daughters Vicki Johnson and Rhonda McGilberry, who is married  to Timothy McGilberry. She has 11 grandchildren Rochelle Robertson, married to Wayne Robertson; Catania Johnson; Corey Johnson married to Danielle Johnson; David Williams; Antoinette Johnson; Victor Johnson; Miriah Williams; Timothy McGilberry II, married to Maribel McGilberry; Titus McGilberry; Thomas McGilberry and Tobias McGilberry; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
