Gerard Augustine, 99, died August 3, 2015, at his home. He was born and raised in Manhattan, NY. He lived in Vero Beach since 1981 having come from River Vale, N.J. After spending his young years performing as a violinist and string bassist on the Broadway scene and across the country in shows, recordings and musical shorts, he spent 5 years in the Army during WWII. He served in Algeria, Tunisia, Italy, Southern France, Alsace and Germany. He returned to his family and fianc Evelyn in November 1945 and married Evelyn on December 9, 1945.
Widowed in 2009, he is survived by daughter Marilyn and her husband Tom Bush and several cousins, nieces and nephews. His son Kenneth was lost in 2013.
