Gertrude (Trudy) Whitty Gamble was born on July 14, 1928 to her parents, Edith and John Whitty, in Lee, Florida. After graduating from Florida State University, she met and married her husband, Thomas Gamble. Together, they raised four daughters:  Susan, Kathryn, Jennifer (James), and Allison (Mike). Throughout her life, her family and friends, her faith in God, and her love for teaching remained her highest priorities.

She was the proud grandmother of Tommy (Sarah), Katie (Ian), Andrew (Kayleigh), Kevin, and Justin (Jessica). In addition, she was delighted with her great-grandchildren:  Robin, Levi, Madelynn, Cameron, Jackson, Iris, and Owen.

On November 8, 2024, she passed from this earthly life to her eternal home, where she rejoined family who predeceased her:  her husband; her parents; her siblings:  Lucile, Muriel, Frances, Bobby, and Benny; and her daughter, Kathy.  She is survived by three daughters, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and members of her extended family.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held during the spring of 2025.
