Gloria J. (Rinehart) Shipley, age 82, was carried by our Heavenly Father to her eternal home on Friday, September 27, 2024, after a brief illness. Her family was by her side. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be private and at the convenience of the family. Cox, Gifford, Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 1950 20th St., Vero Beach, is overseeing arrangements. Gloria was born on August 18, 1942, to the late Kenneth E. and Lucy Jane (Menges) Rinehart. Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Norman E. Shipley, Jr. (2003), two Daughters, Deborah J. (Shipley) Gonzales (2007) and Leanne D. Shipley (2012). Gloria graduated from West York High School (York, PA.) She began her working career at Tioga Mills in York, PA. She then moved on to have a long career of over 25 years with The York Daily Record, then moved onto the transportation industry with Rabbit Transit (York, PA), also working part-time at the York Revolution, where she touched a lot of people until her retirement in 2016, when she moved to Florida with her sweet, furry companion, Maxwell, to be close to her daughter, family and the beach. Gloria attended the York Alliance Church (York, PA) where she served in many capacities over the years until she moved to Florida, where she then became an active member of Calvary Chapel Vero Beach. She served in the children's ministry, where she was known by all the kids as the "sticker lady". She was also an active member of the W.O.W. ladies and other bible study groups.

Gloria is survived by her two sisters, Virginia (Rinehart) Collins of York, PA; Carol (Rinehart) Trainor of York, PA; also, by her children, Jennifer Dawson & husband, Andre of Vero Beach, FL; Tammy Shipley of Murfreesboro, TN; and Terrylynn Shipley of Summerville, SC. She is also survived by a Niece and a Great Nephew in Spring Grove, PA; 9 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren who are spread out over this beautiful country. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions to honor Gloria's life be made to the VNA Hospice House, 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL; or the Human Society of Vero Beach & Indian River Co.
