Mr. Gordon Albert Chase, 87, of Vero Beach, FL passed away on September 3rd, 2017. He left us peacefully to join his wife of past, Susan B. Chase. Gordon was born to the late Esther Whitehouse, Benjamin Albert Chase on 8/23/30. He was predeceased by brother, Donald A. Chase. Gordon also leaves his 3 dearly loved children, Robert Andrew Chase of San Francisco, Laurie Jane Chase, of New Hope Communities in the Southern Catskills, and Bradford Ashley Chase and wife, Theresa A. Chase, of Tampa, FL; 2 grandsons, Austin Alexander Chase, of Jacksonville, FL, and Brayton Ames Chase and wife, Mikayla, of Portland, ME.
Gordon graduated from Marblehead High School, and worked hard his whole life to accomplish so many things, that I can't mention all of his successes. He was a simple, but true New England Gentlemen, always enjoying life to the fullest. We will all miss him forever. Gordon owned and operated the Hickory Farms franchise stores in upstate NY for 19 years, was a volunteer fireman in most of the towns he lived in prior to retirement in Vero Beach. He was a Navy Veteran, Lions Club active member for years, Park Commissioner in Longmeadow, worked for the Steamship Authority on Martha's Vineyard and Dorchester Mutual Fire Ins Co in Boston. He has enjoyed retirement for the last 30 years in Vero Beach, Altamont, Guilderland, Martha's Vineyard and New London, all leaving numerous friends wherever he was.
Mr. Chase will be cremated with his ashes joined together with Susan B. Chase, wife of 50 plus years in Marblehead, MA at a later date. There will be no services involved. Donations may be made to the New Hope Foundations Inc., P O Box 289, rt 52 Loch Sheldrake, NY 12759.
