Obit: Harold "Sarge Martin" Barrett
Harold "Sarge Martin" Barrett, age 86, left this earthly existence on October 4, 2011 at Vero Beach Hospice House.
Born in Brooklyn, N. Y., he served in the U.S. Navy as aviation machinists mate from May 1942 until July 1950 when he married and settled in Hollywood, FL.
He was recalled to active duty for the Korean conflict and served in the U.S.A.F. as flight engineer 1951 to 1958. Returning to Florida, he was an owner/operator in trucking of Indian River Citrus and Florida produce.
"Sarge" leaves a son, Richard Barrett and sister, Cecelia Golieri of Vero Beach, a nephew, David Golieri of Knoxville, TN, and many friends of the "Mrs B's" club and Route 60 truck stop.
