Harold Curley Custer , 90, of Vero Beach FL died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Rosewood Manor in Vero Beach.
He was born May 2, 1921 in Martinsburg, WV. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 2000 coming from Hagerstown, MD.
He served in the United States Air Force.
He was a professional square dance caller, a pilot and built airplanes for a living.
Curley was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ruth; daughters, Marilyn Custer and Barbie Hendricks both of Vero Beach; sisters, Helen Bock and Vivian Jackson; brother, Kenneth Custer; granddaughters, Kimmie Lamm of Vero Beach and Amy Stevens of Blacksburg, VA; great-grandchildren, Abi Lamm, TJ Lamm, Jordan Stevens and Caymen Stevens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made at RBC Bank to the Harold Custer Memorial Fund. The contributions may be sent to 2750 9th Street SW, Vero Beach, FL 32968.
Services: A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Community Church in Vero Beach.
