Hazel Eileen "Bobbie" Kahl

"Bobbie" Kahl of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 in Port Jefferson, NY at the age of 94. She was born in St.Laurent, Quebec, Canada in 1917 to Leonard and Pearl Harris. She met Paul Kahl in Labrador during WWII and they married in 1946.

Bobbie taught 1st grade in North Babylon, NY for more than 20 years. After retiring in 1978, they moved to Ft. Pierce, FL where they kept active golfing, singing in the church choir and enjoying life.

Bobbie is survived by her son David and wife Norma, son James and wife Anna, daughter Wendy Kahl, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marguerite Gilmour of Vancouver and brother Dr. Clifton Harris of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, her son Richard and grandchildren Salena and Andrew.

A Memorial service will be held at the Lakewood Park Methodist Church on Thursday, January 12 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Good Shepherd Hospice at 245 Old Country Road, Melville, NY 11747 or a charity of your choice.
