Hedy R. Stahl, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 12, 2026, at Willowbrooke Court.
Hedy was born on December 17, 1936, in Zurich to Dominik and Bertha Reichmuth.
She moved with her family to the United States in 1951, first residing in Connecticut before moving to Florida in 1972.
During her early years in America, Hedy took classes to learn English and worked as a nanny and a caretaker.
Hedy met her husband, Theodore “Ted” Stahl, in 1999, and the couple married just five months later. Hedy and Ted loved going on cruises and spending time together.
A devout woman of faith, Hedy was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was especially known for her famous cabbage rolls and what many called the best meatloaf.
Hedy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted, and by her brothers, Dominik and Anton.
She is survived by her siblings, Rosmarie Brunner-Reichmuth, Theresia Bär-Reichmuch, and Elisabeth Korth-Reichmuch and Pius Reichmuch as well as numerous other relatives and cherished friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, May 22, 2026 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 500 Iris Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32963.
She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Ted at Crestlawn Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home.
