Helen M. Nemchek, 87, of Vero Beach died Friday, June 8, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House.

Mrs. Nemchek was born November 10, 1924 in Stamford, CT. She had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1992 coming from Stamford.

Prior to her retirement she worked at Southern New England Telephone Company, Branson Instruments and Waldenbooks.

She was of the Catholic faith and a member of Saint John of the Cross Catholic Church. She was a member of the Polish American Club, where she enjoyed bingo with her friends regularly.

Survivors include her daughters Sharon Ialenti of Gardner, MA; Judy Wentz of Vero Beach, FL; and son Frank Nemchek Jr of Fairfield, CT; sisters Sophie Kelly of Stamford, CT and Wanda Gworek of Daytona Beach, FL; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Frank Nemchek, brothers Chester, Benjamin and Albin Kozlowski; and sisters Albina Dziezyc, Emily Franco and Hedy Warnecki.

A funeral mass will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at St. John of the Cross, Vero Beach, Florida.
