Herbert Sonny Greenberg, 80, of Port St. Lucie, FL died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Greenberg was born January 23, 1929 in Bronx, NY and moved to Port St. Lucie six years ago coming from Plantation, Florida.
Prior to his retirement he joined his father in the fancy stitching/embroidery business and together they ran P. Greenberg & Son in Easton, PA. In 1973 Herb relocated his family and business to Miami and spent the rest of his life in South Florida. He was a US Army veteran and served in Japan.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Wilma Greenberg of Port St. Lucie; daughter Mara Greenberg Woodward of Vero Beach, FL; son Barry Greenberg of Fort Lauderdale, FL; daughters Lori Detlefsen of Jacksonville, FL, Eileen Brydebell of Port St. Lucie, FL and Heather Madden of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; son Marshall Levin of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sisters Florence Solomon of New York and Evelyn Kaplan; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. As a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Herb will be dearly missed.
Services: A graveside will be held 2 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL with full military honors. Friends and family are invited for a special gathering at Heathers home, 3867 Carnation Circle N, Palm Beach gardens, FL 33410.
