Herbert Thomas James, Jr., 86, of Vero Beach, FL died Monday, November 1, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House.
Mr. James was born on November 25, 1923 in Alpena, MI and moved to Vero Beach for 56 years after living in Ft. Pierce, FL for two years.
He graduated from the University of Florida, Class of 1950, and had been the Citrus Production Manager for Graves Brothers Company prior to his retirement. Mr. James was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach and was a veteran of WW II, having served in the US Army as a combat infantryman on the front line in the European Theatre.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice; daughters, Lynette Armstrong of Cincinnati, OH, Betty Lustig of Vero Beach, FL, Brenda Davis of Oakton, VA; sons, H. Thomas James III of Vero Beach, and Norman James of Dade City. Mr. James is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services: A Life Celebration Service for Mr. James will take place 10 AM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach with military honors by VFW Post 3916.
