Obituary

Herta Helene Tamburr, 92, of Sebastian, died on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was born September 24, 1918 in Ober Wuestegiersdorf, Germany and emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1927. She resided in Rivervale, NJ and Goshen, NY before moving to Sebastian in 1981.
She had a lifelong love of books and reading and was a founding member of both the Rivervale (NJ) Public Library and the Sebastian Public Library.
She was a homemaker and a community volunteer serving as volunteer coordinator at Arden Hill Hospital and she was a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Leader.
She was a member of the Goshen Art Group and the Sebastian Art Club serving as secretary and painting many local scenes in New York and Florida.
Survivors include her son Joseph Tamburr of Slingerlands, NY; daughter Laurie Furlong of Sand Lake, NY; brother Karl Hoffman of Midlothian, VA; two grandsons and a niece.
She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Hoffman; son Karl Tamburr and husband Joseph Tamburr.
Services: No services are planned at this time.
