Howard George Chickering, 84, of Barefoot Bay, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Health Central Park nursing Home in Winter Garden, FL. He was born April 3, 1927 in Queens, NY, and has been a resident of Barefoot Bay for 14 years, moving here from Copiague, New York.
Howard was a tool and die maker and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Micco.
Survivors include three daughters Christine Storma of Orlando, FL, Irene Garone and, Diane Chickering both of Massapequa, NY, three sons, Joseph Chickering of Barefoot Bay, FL, Robert Chickering of Brooksville, FL, and William Chickering of Northport, NY, six step children, Kathleen McKeon of Barefoot Bay, Charlene, Arthur, Jeanine, Brendan, and Thomas, all of Lond Island, NY, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister Alice Caples of Amityville, NY. Howard was predeceased by his wife, Carole Chickering.
Viewing will be from 1 to 3 pm Saturday, May 28, 2011 with funeral ceremony to begin at 3:00 at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian.
