Howard Vernon Ives, 60, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, FL, after a short illness.

Howard was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Ives, and his grandparents, Howard and Elsie Granger, and Vernon and Mary Ives.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Ives of Putnam Station, NY; sister, Dannae Bock (Michael); nieces, Jillian Maulsby (Joe) and Richele Choukeir (Khalil); great-niece, Alaina Maulsby; great-nephew, William Maulsby; and his beloved dog, Fenway.

Howard graduated from Ticonderoga High School in Ticonderoga, NY, in 1981. He then attended Adirondack Community College, where he studied in the engineering/drafting program. Howard worked for several years in the restaurant industry and was a co-owner of Aslan Lawn and Landscaping in Vero Beach, FL. He was highly talented in both exterior and interior home design.

Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory in Vero Beach, FL. A private immediate family burial will take place at a later date at the South Cemetery in Putnam Station, NY.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the ICU doctors and nurses of Indian River Hospital/Cleveland Clinic in Vero Beach, FL, and Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL.
