Hugh Smokey Lee Martin, Jr., 87, of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Martin was born July 11, 1921 in Charleston, IL and moved to Vero Beach in 1966 from Allenville, IL.
He had worked as a welder for Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach before his retirement and was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Navy.
Survivors include his sister Eula Kuhns of Forsyth, IL, brothers Jerry Martin of Decatur, IL and Roger Martin of Belleville, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Mattie Carraway Martin and a brother James F. Martin.
Services: Interment will be at Winter Beach Cemetery in Winter Beach, FL where the family will meet for a private graveside service.
