Ila Marie Kirchner, 89, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Grace Rehabilitation Center.

Ila was born in Minneapolis, MN. August 23, 1929. Before retiring in Vero Beach, Ila and her husband of 65 years, Earl Kirchner, lived in Mendota Heights, MN. Where they raised their family of six children.

Ila was an RN and specialized in geriatric care. She was director of nursing at Wilder Residence in St. Paul, MN.

Ila had many interests and talents including a passion for music that she shared with her community. She had a beautiful soprano voice.

Ila was an avid gardener and won many blue ribbons at the Minnesota State Fair for her flower arrangements.

She was also a talented and creative seamstress. She sewed wedding gowns and dresses for family and friends.

Ila was preceded in death by her husband, Earl and daughter, Cynthia Kirchner Tonn.

She is survived by Virginia Kirchner of Sebastian, FL and Rock, MI; Stephen (Nancy) Kirchner, Westerville, Ohio; Bruce (Susan) Kirchner, Sebastian, FL; Brian( Jolene) Kirchner, Maidenrock, WS; Richard ( Kim) Kirchner, Apple Valley, MN; Eleven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass and celebration of life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach on Saturday, November 10 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.

Memorials may be made in Ila's name to Trinity Episcopal Church.
