Irene Katherine L'Homme, 84, of Indian River Estates, Vero Beach, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018.

She was born to the late Michael and Mary Blaszczak on February 13, 1933 in New Bedford, MA.  Irene graduated from New Bedford High School in 1950.  She married Dr. Paul L'Homme in 1956.  Paul served in the military and they had the opportunity to live in Germany, Okinawa, and Saudi Arabia, as well as Ft. Benning, GA and Ft. Meade, MD, throughout his military career. They later retired to Vero Beach, FL in 1984.

Irene worked as a legal secretary in the early years of their marriage. She enjoyed golf, was an avid duplicate bridge player and a devoted lover of animals.  She held the position of Treasurer for the Vero Beach Duplicate Bridge Club from 1984-2003.

Irene is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul L'Homme; her nephew Michael (Kim) Blaszczak, of Woodbury, CT; her nieces Virginia (Kishore) Kamath of Slidell, LA and Mary Anne (David) Mushatt of New Orleans, LA; and Godchild, Paul Matuch of Wayne, PA.

Private services will be held at a later date in New Bedford, MA.
