Ivan D. Petrey, Sr., 69, of Stuart, FL died Saturday, November 8, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Petrey was born September 28, 1939 in Whitley County, Woodbine, KY and moved to Stuart eighteen months ago from Rosarito Beach, Baja, Mexico.
A self-taught computer programmer, Mr. Petrey was instrumental in developing inventory control computer systems now commonly used in retail sales. He was also a real estate developer and entrepreneur. Mr. Petrey was a past president of the Franklin, OH Jaycees.
Survivors include his son Dale Petrey of Stuart; son William Murphy (Leah Gail) Petrey of Dayton, OH; daughter Rhonda L. (Richard Rose) Shockley-Rose of Linden, MI; son Timothy Allen (Bonnie Petrey, deceased) Petrey of Hamilton, OH; daughter Cheryl Ann (Steven Pierce) Pierce of Hamilton, OH; sister Margaret Lee Christy of Dayton, OH; brother Hascal Howard Petrey, Jr. of Bonita Springs, FL; sister Michael Lynn Powers of Dayton, OH; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
