Jack A, Follis, 88, of Ft. Pierce, FL died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL.
Mr. Follis was born November 18, 1920 in Stamford, CT and moved to Ft. Pierce 28 years ago from Pound Ridge, NY.
Prior to his retirement he had been the Postmaster of Pound Ridge, NY. He was a veteran of WW II, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army in the Battle of the Bulge and Normandy. Mr. Follis was a past president of The Lions Club and a volunteer fireman in Pound Ridge. He was a member of the Postmasters Association.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Beth Follis of Ft. Pierce, son Rick Follis of Poughquag, NY, a daughter Jacqueline OHarkin of Barre, VT, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: A private service for the family will take place at a later date.
