Jack Palumbo, 85, of Fort Pierce, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Abbijean Russell Care Center in Fort Pierce. Mr. Palumbo was born November 29, 1927 in Jersey City, NJ. He had been a resident of Fort Pierce since 1995, coming from Lyndhurst, NJ. He served in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement he worked for the Jersey City Public Works Department in the electric and gas division. He was a member of AmVets and the Elks Lodge. He was an avid golfer and a member of Island Pines and Meadowood Golf Clubs in Fort Pierce. Survivors include his companion of 3 ½ years, Joyce Washburn; nephews, John A. Palumbo and Larry Palumbo; niece, Kathy Abo; daughter-in-law, Joetta Palumbo; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine and his son, John Palumbo. Services: A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 with a prayer service starting at 8:00 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
