Jack W. Purvis, 81, passed away on November 11, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born November 20, 1934 in Vero Beach to the late Leonard Purvis and Lena Mae Bell.

Mr. Purvis was a veteran of the United State Army. He worked 30 years with the St. Johns Water District and retired as Superintendent.

He is survived by his children, Brenda Baker of Fellsmere, Debby (Roger) Walker of Vero Beach, Karen (Randy) Glass of Vero Beach and Jeffrey (Shannon) Purvis of Vero Beach; grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer) Baker, Ben Baker, Jessica (Jesse) Haines, Roger Walker Jr., Chrissy Glass, Randy (Nikki) Glass Jr., Elizabeth Purvis, Shaila Zimmerman and Ashley (Gray) Bishop; great-grandchildren, Jameson Baker, Chad Jenkins, David Maxwell, Laney Glass and Michael Glass and sister, Janet (Tommy) Bass of Trenton, FL. Mr. Purvis was predeceased by his wife, Maryann in 1986 and his son Jack W. Purvis Jr. in 2014.

A visitation will be held 5-7 pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 10 am, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Winter Beach Cemetery.
