James Michael Burgess (Jimmy), age 48, passed away unexpectedly, entering into eternal rest, on Sunday, April 6th, 2008. He was born Dec. 13, 1959 in Fall River, MA, and raised in Ledyard, CT, where he graduated from Ledyard High School in 1977.
He was employed by The Majors Golf Club in Palm Bay, FL, where he was loved by co-workers and those who frequented the club. Jimmy was very athletic & loved all sports. He was an avid golfer, and was sure he could beat Tiger Woods even on a bad day!
Everyone who knew Jimmy, knew how good-hearted, generous and caring he was, always putting others before himself. He loved to laugh, and make others laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor. He loved and lived for his family and could always be counted on for love and support.
He is survived by his Mom & Dad (Nelson & Dolores Burgess) of Micco, FL, his son, Devon,
his sisters; Debbie (Dave) DEugenio of Hamden, CT, Carrie (Russ) Shaw of Gales Ferry, CT, Lisa (Ken) Remondi of Oakdale, CT, Amy (Tomme) Lorenz of Lomira, WI, and his brother James (Tammy) Auclair of Fairfield, ME, his nephews and nieces; Jenny (Michael) Wood, Chris Fanning, Jessica DEugenio, Dawn Shaw, Tonya (Jeremy) Morse, Joshua Remondi, Michael Remondi, Jessica & Kendall Remondi, Danny Davis (Jessica), Bobby Hartwig, Gavin and Conner Lorenz, Daniel, David, Michael Auclair, and great nieces; Selena, Aubrielle & Kaitlyn.
A memorial service will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 Fleming St., Sebastian, FL on Friday, April 11th at 3:00pm. A reception will follow at the home of Jimmys parents, at 3857 15th St., Micco, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to a charity of your choice.
