James F. Murphy, 80, of Vero Beach, FL passed away on August 9, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL.

Mr. Murphy was born February 1, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI to James and Margaret Murphy. He was a resident of Vero Beach, for 18 years, coming from Wisconsin.

James graduated with a degree in journalism from Marquette University and started his career with Catholic Publications Hi-Time Magazine.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Joann Murphy.

Survivors include sons, Joseph B. Murphy, Martin P. Murphy, Matthew K. Murphy, and Pat Murphy; daughter, Mary C. Murphy; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.

A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, August 15, 2014 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
