James Everett Gallo-Roberts, 58, passed away November 7th, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach FL.
James was born in Vero Beach, FL, and lived in and around Vero Beach for most of his life. He attended St Helen's Catholic School, graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1974 and with an Associates degree from Indian River Community (State) College in 1976. He proudly served in the 1st Battalion (Airborne) 509th Infantry, Battalion Combat Team in the United States Army 1977 - 1981 in Italy, Germany, England, Spain, Turkey and stateside and received many awards and commendations for his service, including the Belgian Parachutist Badge in 1981. He was honorably discharged in 1981.
James was the beloved son of Harold A and Maria F Roberts and Daniel A and Harriet M Gallo; beloved father of Quinten James Gallo, beloved brother of Mary Anne Roberts (John) Mitchell, Catherine Roberts (Doug) Smart, John Roberts, Margaret Roberts (Ron) Bray, Patricia Roberts (Gene) Criss, Johanna Roberts, Scott Gallo, Irene Gallo (Rick) Phelps, Mark (Margie) Gallo, John Gallo, Richard Gallo, Mary Gallo (Mike) Waskevich, Gregory Gallo and Matthew Gallo.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold A and Maria F Roberts and Harriet M Gallo, and brother John Gallo.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 8 pm Wednesday at Cox Gifford Seawinds funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held noon Thursday, November 14th at St. Helen Catholic Church. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made in James'name to the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.
