.James (Jim) E. Hackett, 81, of Ft. Pierce, Florida, beloved husband of Nathalie for 57 years, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2017.

Jim was born in Yonkers, New York to James and Emily (Birdsall) Hackett. Jim retired in 1991 after 28 years of service with the City of Yonkers Fire Department.

Jim is the very proud father of his daughter, Sharon Mitchell and her husband Frank Mitchell of Wappingers Falls, NY, his son Kevin and his wife Beth Anne of Basking Ridge, NJ, his son Michael and his wife of Missy of Charlotte, NC, and his son Brian of Midland NC. He is the revered grandfather to 2 grandsons, Patrick Mitchell and his wife Annie, Connor Hackett,; 5 granddaughters, Caitlin Mitchell, Taylor Hackett, Lauren Hackett, Alexandra Hackett and Kayleigh Hackett; and 3 great grandchildren, Brayden, Henry and Rory.

Jim enjoyed his retirement years in Florida, he cherished golf with his friends, talking about his beloved NY Giants with his sons and daughter, and enjoyed the "Gift of Gab" with his coffee buddies.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7pm at the Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2pm at St. Helen's Catholic Church.
