Obituary

James Eli Hare, 80, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Hare was born July 27, 1930 in Kimmelton, PA. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1989, coming from Johnstown, PA.
Before his retirement, he worked for 34 years in the railcar division of Bethlehem Steel.
In addition to working in the steel mill, he worked as an electrician in Pennsylvania and Florida.
He served in the United States Army. He fought during the Korean War in the 40th Infantry Division and the 223rd Combat Infantry Regiment.
James was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a baptized member of the Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Hare is preceded in death by his parents; Benjamin H. Hare and Mary Ellen Bowers; brother, Jack Hare; and sisters, Gertrude Mostoller, Phyllis Gelet.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Zona M. Findley Hare; sons, Robert James Hare of Cairnbrook, PA, David Allen Hare of Mifflintown, PA; daughter, Tamela E. Hare Ewing of Easton, MD; 5 grandchildren; brother, Benjamin Hare; sisters, June Lambert, Grace Duppstadt, and Geraldine Peterson.
No local services are planned at this time. A private interment will take place later this summer in Graefs Cemetery in Cairnbrook, PA.
